I’m sitting here in my blue Adidas sweat pants, drinking cheap cooking port out of a snifter, selling gadgets on Ebay. Not too bad for a Wednesday afternoon.
What I’ve learned from this:
1. Pricey port is worth the money. Cheap port gives you a headache while you’re drinking it.
2. Snifters suck to drink from. Small snifters suck more by an order of magnitude.
3. Sweat pants are the future of fashion. Why aren’t they just handed out?
4. My wife makes some pretty inventive dishes. The one she made from the cheap port made me wince. The other 9 out of 10 dishes are outstanding. Its the one bad one that I fear.

Great, power line kittens. Isn’t that weird? Wouldn’t you find that odd if you met someone and they were blase about having a few extra digits? Why is that cute?

LAist: Wave Changes Landscape of L.A. Traffic
Unreal, a sighting of humanity in LA. I am humbled by the self-congratulatory angelinos when as a group they decide to be somewhat human.

We were all set to go to Vegas this morning. Gill and I were heading off to SEMA. Well, I was going to SEMA, she was going to Canyon Ranch to get spa’d. I was going there to do a piece for Gizmodo.com on some cool aftermarket stuff. Well, it was a comedy of errors.
Pack, put up pups, put out clothes, get to bed.
Alarm clock, set for 4:05 AM.
5:58 AM I manage to, in my sleep head-butt my wife. She, in her half-asleep daze acts like she’s been shot. She acts very strange in general when she’s woken up. Head butting made it much worse.
I noticed the time, then noticed the LED indicating the clock thinks its 5:58PM.
6:05 American airlines tells me that all of the flights are booked and I can show up to ride standby.
7:45 8AM standby is 6 over. Try the 9
8:45 the 9 is overbooked by 6, try the 10
9:30 the 10 is way overbooked and they are paying people to get off the flight
9:32 heading home, I’m silent. So mad I’m shaking. I’m still mad now as I write this. AM/PM, it makes the difference.
In a few minutes Ill be on the horn with American again to see if we can get there tonight. If I wasn’t doing this for a story I’d be back in bed.
