Last night I met up with Eli, Laura and her friend Jen. Its not actually Jen but I didnt get her name the first two times and I just couldnt bring myself to ask a third time. We started off at Senoritas, a Mexican place on Sunset and Doheny at the begining of the Strip. After my hard, annoying day at work, a few drinks made sense. After that things made less sense. It was downhill from there.

Many drinks later we are in the Comedy Store waiting for Lauras firend to go on stage. Its not actually her friend. They are both from London Ontario and their fathers know each other. For some people that makes kin. Laura’s friend was on late in the show. Long after the two drink minimum had come and gone. Long after the drinks that followed.

Her set was good. I liked the off center non-sequitors, but I think the rest of the audience saw it as a drunken Dennis Miller-like rant. Hey, its a stand-up show, where else is she going to try out the new material.

They wraped up things about 11:30 and instead of following the cows out the front door, we head out the back. Those pneumatic arms on top of the door that closes the door behind you usually makes the door a bit hard to open. This one was broken and gave way very fast to my brute shove. The bouncer behind the door made a nasty face, but we were going out so he couldn’t do the math fast enough to get annoyed. As I head down the steel steps to the lot, some guy yells about the water bottle on the steps,

“hey, move that bottle, it’ll get stepped on!”

I swing down and grab the bottle, with great sarcasm “holy crap, look at this, I almost had to pay for this, good thing I saw it. You need to be more careful!”

I looked up to see the yelling guy jump back to get out of my way as I hand him the bottle and bound down the steps. He had a confused look on his face. He stopped and just stood there in his 80′s muscle beach pants and sweatshirt. It was the Dice Man. What a moron.
